Multi-Speed Fan Clutch
For medium and heavy duty trucks
Electro-magnetic fan clutches deliver better under-hood heat management for fuel savings, noise reduction, and longer clutch life
As modern heavy-duty diesel engines meet demanding emission standards, the increased requirement for better heat rejection has resulted in a loss of engine efficiency due to the use of bigger fans and higher fan power plus the need for faster response time. Multi-speed electromagnetic clutches for cooling-fan drives are designed for zero slippage and provide the full cooling power needed while saving fuel and operating costs. They also significantly reduce noise levels and create less stir in dusty conditions.
The Concepts NREC electromagnetic fan clutch operates at the most effective speed available for the cooling required. This also delivers the best economy, especially for large fans that run at high speeds. The clutch can even provide adequate cooling at idle without the noise typically associated with the high-speed direct drive of an on-off clutch.
Now available to U.S. fleet operators plus truck and engine manufacturers
Several models of the fan clutch are available for direct crankshaft drive or mounting with a bracket and pulley. And each Concepts NREC electromagnetic clutch is designed for the life of the truck. Concepts NREC is also presently offering and supplying the LICOS two-speed fan clutch as a retrofit for local and national fleets, and both the two-speed and three-speed units can be custom engineered as a factory installation for truck and engine manufacturers.
