Manufacturing Engineer (Massachusetts) - This individual works in a cross-functional environment with Engineering, Manufacturing, Purchasing, Product Management, and suppliers to introduce design configurations that meet target goals for quality, cost, and manufacture. Responsibilities include providing technical leadership for manufacturing processes such as machining, castings, metal joining, and tool and fixture design. Duties include coordinating and leading internal resources , contract manufacturers, and multiple vendors through fabrication, including investigating issues with vendor quality and schedule, prototype builds, pilot production, training and production ramp phases of projects. Will initiate DFMA on all new design configurations and recommend design changes as necessary. Finally, responsible for tasks associated with development of production methods, design technology transfer, manufacturing technology solutions, and product qualification. May work off-site as required to manage and facilitate the assembly process. 5-15 years of experience in a manufacturing, project-oriented environment including familiarity with general manufacturing processes for turbomachinery and industrial equipment such as machining, turnings, castings, metal and fiberglass fabrication, skids, electrical cables, and instrumentation. Experience working directly with sub-contract fabrication vendors in these areas is required. Must have effective interpersonal skills, including technical, communication, and negotiation skills. Must be self-directed and able to work in a cross-functional team environment. A background in mechanical components, system integration, and new product introduction is required. The ability to understand engineering drawings, GD&T, with knowledge of 3D CAD systems (SolidWorks, Pro/E) is essential. Must have computer literacy, to include the use of Excel, MS Word, and familiarity with MRP/ERP systems. ME degree beneficial. Non-smokers only and U.S. citizens preferred.
Instrumentation/Test Engineer (Vermont or Massachusetts) - We are seeking a person to support our internationally recognized engineering design and development staff and our turbomachinery test facilities. This individual will have at least five years experience in an engineering laboratory environment. Duties include technical support for the selection, calibration, and installation of instrumentation for laboratory turbomachinery test rigs, and supporting test rig development relating to instrumentation, data acquisition, data processing, electronics, and controls. Responsibilities also include assisting in the design and development of new turbomachinery in the areas of controls and high speed motor selection. Familiarity with electronics and instrumentation is required. Proficiency with LabView data acquisition and signal processing applications development highly desirable. An electronics associates degree, or engineering degree, or equivalent experience is required. Some limited travel between the Woburn Product Center and our Wilder, Vermont facility may be required.
Mechanical Design Engineer
(Vermont or Massachusetts) - We are seeking an experienced (5-15 years) Mechanical Design Engineer to work with our Design/CAD department on the design of turbomachinery related components. The ideal candidates will have experience with turbomachinery mechanical design (pumps, turbines, or compressors), or with other high speed rotating equipment. Knowledge of CAD standards, including GTD, is required. Knowledge of manufacturing processes is extremely beneficial, as is knowledge of ProE. All staff members are team player possessing excellent communication skills. A B.Sc., or equivalent experience is expected.
Engineering Sales Manager
(Vermont) - Acting as a principal customer interface, the Engineering Sales Manager requires a thorough technical knowledge of the turbomachinery industry, including mechanical equipment design, operation, application, and maintenance of combustion and steam turbines, compressors, pumps, fans/blowers, and turbochargers. An engineering degree (BSME) is required with five or more years of work related experience and the ability to translate customer requests into technical proposals. The ability to organize and manage time in a motivated, self-directed manner, and to communicate quickly and clearly with customers and internal resources with excellent verbal and written skills, is required. Interpersonal and teamwork skills are very important.
Mechanical Design or Structural Analysis Engineer (Vermont or Massachusetts) - Working out of our Vermont facility, this mid to senior level key individual is responsible for design work on advanced turbomachinery, including rocket turbo pumps. In addition, a responsibility of the job will be to help establish and lead efforts for developing design practices (for layout and structural analysis), and working with sales and marketing to identify and pursue opportunities for product and/or research activities. Rocket turbo pump design and/or analysis expertise is required for the job. This individual will be self-motivated and innovative. A broad range of knowledge and experience in manufacturing processes, business development, and engineering research and development is a plus. Excellent communication and teamwork skills are required. A minimum of a B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering is required, along with applicable experience, with a M.Sc. in Mechanical engineering preferred.
Project Manager (Vermont) – A Project Manager (PM) is responsible for day-to-day management of specific engineering projects to include satisfaction of all project technical and contractual requirements, and satisfaction of cost and schedule targets. In addition, the PM will coordinate activities of company personnel (utilizing company resource management tools) and appropriate outside resources as required, coordinate customer communication, and ensure proper documentation (including ISO requirements) for projects under the PM’s responsibility. Other duties include coordinating activities with engineering and operations groups as required to meet goals, perform engineering functions in qualified areas, as time allows, and supporting company sales activities as requested. A minimum of a B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering, along with 10+ years of active engineering experience and a minimum of five years of project management experience is required. Abilities include “hands-on” turbomachinery and manufacturing experience, test and/or field service experience, clear, concise written and oral communication skills (English), and competency with MS family of business software products. Must be able to read blueprints, and CAD experience, especially ProE, is a plus. Some travel, both foreign and domestic, is expected. Must be a U.S. citizen and be able to obtain security clearance if required.
Senior Level Aerodynamics/Hydrodynamics Engineer (Vermont, Massachusetts, or Utah) - We are seeking three senior level turbomachinery engineers, with a focus in the aerodynamic / hydrodynamic design and analysis areas. Responsibilities include aero/hydro design and analysis of compressors, pumps, turbines (including steam turbines), and stationary turbomachinery components. Experience with both axial and radial turbomachinery is very beneficial. Turbomachinery experience should include meanline design, three-dimensional flow path and blading design, and CFD analysis using modern design tools. Project management experience is critical. One of the available positions specifically calls for in-depth turbine design/analysis experience. Excellent communication, presentation, and teamwork skills are very important. A minimum B.Sc., ME, and 10-15 years in aerodynamic/hydrodynamic design and analysis after the degree was earned, is expected.
Structural Engineers (Vermont, Massachusetts, or Utah) - We are seeking a structural engineer to join our experienced structural design group, focusing on structural/mechanical design and analysis areas. Responsibilities include structural and mechanical design and the structural analysis of compressors, pumps, turbines, and stationary turbomachinery components. The person filling the position must have direct experience with turbomachinery layout and design of bearing, seals, housing, and impellers and will have turbomachinery experience in interpreting analysis results for: stress, vibration, bearing analysis, rotordynamics, and heat transfer analyses. Knowledge of the software tools ANSYS, Pro-E, DyRoBeS as well as project management experience is a plus. Minimum B.Sc., and 5-10 years experience in design and analysis. Duties can include managing smaller engineering projects, technical decision-making responsibilities, and stress, vibration, and heat transfer analysis. Experience with ANSYS or equivalent finite element software is preferable. Excellent communication, presentation, and teamwork skills are very important. A minimum B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering, with 5-10 years of experience after the degree was earned, is expected.
OPERATIONS
Quality Control Manager / CMM Specialist (Massachusetts) - This individual will be responsible for developing QC systems which ensure that products and services are designed and produced to meet internal and external customer requirements and expectations. Provides leadership and support of the product and process quality for precision complex machined parts and assemblies in a prototype and production environment. Duties include hands-on knowledge, leadership and support in inspection, corrective and preventative action initiation and implementation, defect data and root cause analysis, quality data collection and reporting, material control, and support of cross-functional teams with QA, Manufacturing, and Engineering. A strong, thorough knowledge of quality improvement tools is expected, along with statistical methods (including sampling), quality system development, maintenance, and auditing (ISO9000:2000), 3D surface and solid modeling and CAD tools, and expert knowledge of CMM operations and tools. A B.Sc. degree or equivalent experience is expected, with seven plus years of quality control and CMM experience in measuring complex machined parts and assemblies. CQE, ASQ is a plus. MS Office fluency is required, and knowledge of Visual Manufacturing and Quality is a plus.

Product Manager - Cooling (Massachusetts) - This individual takes the lead role to insure that the company has success in the marketplace for product, placement, promotion, costing and pricing functions in his/her area of responsibility. Duties and responsibilities include: forecasting current product sales and analyzing market needs; developing product plan for current and future sales growth; gaining approval for and implementing product plan; customer negotiations, measuring results, reassessing, and making course corrections. The manager is expected to visit customers and vendors, become technically conversant, and work directly with OEMs to allow product development while developing ideas for cost reduction, new products/technologies, sourcing, process flow, market channels, and customer markets. In addition, it is expected that the manager will work directly with engineering, purchasing, production, and accounting groups to coordinate product manufacturing. A B.Sc. in management, marketing, or engineering is expected along with significant product management experience. Must have truck, automotive, or off-highway product management experience (truck preferred) along with some direct supervision and sales experience. Excellent communication, presentation, cross-departmental, and teamwork skills are essential, along with a broad-based knowledge of cooling systems (fan clutch preferred) along with a solid basis in business fundamentals. An ability and willingness to travel is required, as well as solid computer and business software skills and the ability to demonstrate technical concepts to customers and prospects.

Software Engineer (Vermont) - This individual will join a strong group of software engineers developing advanced Windows based applications using C++, MFC, Python, and/or FORTRAN. 3-5 years programming experience, preferably in engineering or technical applications, is required. A background in fluid dynamics, thermodynamics or turbomachinery is highly desired. BA / B.Sc. in computer science, math, engineering, or scientific discipline is required. Excellent team working skills and the motivation to succeed in a fast paced engineering environment are critical for success.
Senior Software Engineer (Vermont) - Senior level opening in Concepts NREC’s software group developing Windows based applications using C++, MFC, Python, and/or FORTRAN for advanced engineering applications. 5+ years programming experience in engineering or technical applications, is required. A background in fluid dynamics, thermodynamics or turbomachinery is highly desired. Masters in computer science, math, engineering, or scientific discipline or equivalent experience is required. Excellent team working skills and the motivation to succeed in a fast paced engineering environment are critical for success.
Software Engineer - CAM (Massachusetts) - Reporting to the head of CAM software product development, this individual will work on software development for the MAX-PAC CAM system as part of a small team of developers. The product is specialized for 5-axis milling of turbomachinery components. Strong mathematical and analytical skills are required to develop new geometry and tool path features. C++, Parasolids, and Fortran are desirable. One to three years of related work experience is required along with the ability to work independently or as part of a team. A B.Sc. in Mathematics or Engineering is expected.
INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITIES
Internships for college students concentrating in engineering, computer science, mathematics, and marketing are generally available throughout the year. Students have the opportunity to work directly with staff members on projects, dependent upon their interests and talents, including in the turbomachinery testing facility and research.
