Sales and Marketing
Territory Sales Manager (Telecommuting Location)
Reporting directly to the Director of Software Sales and part of the Concepts NREC sales and marketing team, the Territory Sales Manager (TSM) is responsible for new business development activities in the software sales area by matching company capabilities and products to customer requirements for a defined territory which includes both international and domestic clients. The TSM will take the actions required to contract orders for company products and services against set targets and is expected to exceed sales goals. The TSM plans and prioritizes personal sales activities and customer/prospect contacts towards achieving agreed business aims, including cost and sales while planning and managing territory/business according to an agreed market development strategy. Maintaining and developing existing and new customers through appropriate proposals and ethical sales methods is important while managing product/service mix, pricing, and margins. The TSM is also expected to mentor all channel partners within a specific territory, attend and present at external customer meetings and internal meetings to aid in business development, and to attend training to develop relevant knowledge, techniques and skills. The TSM is expected to monitor and report on market and competitor activities, as well as to plan local marketing activities to budgets and schedules while integrating personal sales efforts with other organizational marketing activities, e.g. product launches, promotions, advertising, exhibitions, and telemarketing.
The TSM will be a well organized, self-motivated, results-oriented professional with a positive outlook and a clear focus on high quality and business profit. He/she must be a strong communicator in English (both in person and telephone) and a team player with an eye towards satisfying customer needs. Must be adept in the use of MS Office, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint and, ideally, will also have knowledge of Access or similar database systems to a basic level. Must be able to understand profit and loss calculations and be a very strong writer of professional sales letters, proposals, and quotations. A B.Sc. in Engineering or equivalent is required along with at least five years of technical sales experience preferably in the field of engineering design and analysis software. Spoken or written skills in other languages (Chinese/Spanish/Portuguese) would be advantageous.
Operations
Advanced Manufacturing Engineer 5-Axis Machining (Massachusetts)
We are seeking an experienced individual to work directly with project managers and manufacturing staff to produce custom 5-Axis CNC fabricated products for the turbomachinery industry in an ISO 9001/2000 environment. This position is accountable for providing continuous improvement utilizing the latest technologies and proprietary CAM software. An in-depth understanding of machining of stainless steels, titanium, nickel-based alloys is essential. Knowledge of inspection methods and use of inspection tools and equipment is highly desirable. The Advanced Manufacturing Engineer will work in a cross-functional environment with Engineering, Manufacturing, Purchasing, and suppliers in order to produce 5-Axis machined components that meet targets for quality, cost, and delivery. He/she will lead internal projects to advance manufacturing technology, improve efficiency, and reduce costs as well as to develop and document best methods for 5-Axis tool path generation and cutting tool selection. A B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering is preferred along with an ability to understand engineering drawings, GD&T, and knowledge of 3D CAD systems (SolidWorks, Pro/E). Excellent communication, planning, teamwork, and analytical skills are essential. Must have computer literacy, including the use of Excel, Microsoft Word, and familiarity with MRP/ERP systems.
Technician
Laboratory Technician / Machinist (Vermont)
We have an immediate opening for an individual with a strong mechanical aptitude to work in our turbomachinery test facility assembling and testing development and production equipment. Under the direction of engineering staff, this individual will build test rigs, calibrate and install instrumentation, make precision measurements of components, and maintain support equipment for the laboratory (diesel engines, gas turbines, HVAC, etc.). In addition, machining skills are desired to assist in the manufacture of parts for the test projects. Should be able to read blueprints/schematics, have basic computer skills, and some experience with ISO standards, welding, electronics, and sensors. Excellent communication and teamwork skills are expected.
Engineering
Director of Mechanical Component Design (Vermont)
We are seeking a senior or mid-level engineer with design and structural analysis experience in the turbomachinery industry to manage our mechanical component design group. This individual will oversee the work of a group of talented mechanical designers and structural analysis engineers, and will also be responsible for their own design/analysis projects. Experience with turbomachinery design (bearings, seals, rotordynamics, stress, and fatigue lifing) is required. Experience can come from a number of different industries, including turbocharger, industrial compressor/turbine, aerospace gas turbine, etc. Project and personnel management experience is highly desirable. The successful candidate must have a B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering (M.S. preferred) and 10+ years of relevant design and/or analysis experience.
Sr. Mechanical Design Engineer (Vermont)
Concepts NREC seeks a Sr. Mechanical Design Engineer in White River Jct, VT, to work with the design engineer team and CAD personnel to design advanced turbomachinery components and modify existing designs. Will support conceptualization of new machinery and machine components and assist sales and marketing as needed. Will check work of others, assist CAD manager with workflow planning, and recommend materials, manufacturing methods, and assembly procedures. May oversee work of other Mechanical Design Engineers and assist with work schedule and planning. Some travel may be involved. Must have B.S. Mechanical Engineering +15 yrs relevant experience to include turbomachinery, CAD, and manufacturing processes.
Instrumentation/Test Engineer (Vermont)
Concepts NREC is seeking a person to support our internationally recognized engineering design and development staff and our turbomachinery test facilities. This individual will have at least five years experience in an engineering laboratory environment. Duties include technical support for the selection, calibration, and installation of instrumentation for laboratory turbomachinery test rigs, and supporting test rig development relating to instrumentation, data acquisition, data processing, electronics, and controls. Responsibilities also include assisting in the design and development of new turbomachinery in the areas of controls and high-speed motor selection. Familiarity with electronics and instrumentation is required. Proficiency with LabView data acquisition and signal processing applications development highly desirable. An electronics associates degree, or engineering degree, or equivalent experience is required. Some limited travel between the Woburn Product Center and our Wilder, Vermont, facility may be required.
Senior Level Aerodynamics/Hydrodynamics Engineer (Vermont)
We are seeking a senior level turbomachinery engineer, with a focus in the aerodynamic / hydrodynamic design and analysis areas. Responsibilities include aero/hydro design and analysis of compressors, pumps, turbines (including steam turbines), and stationary turbomachinery components. Experience with both axial and radial turbomachinery is very beneficial. Turbomachinery experience should include meanline design, three-dimensional flow path and blading design, and CFD analysis using modern design tools. Project management experience is critical. One of the available positions specifically calls for in-depth turbine design/analysis experience. Excellent communication, presentation, and teamwork skills are very important. A minimum B.Sc., ME, and 10-15 years in aerodynamic/hydrodynamic design and analysis after the degree was earned is expected.
Software Development
Senior Software Engineer (Vermont)
We are looking for a highly motivated and innovative engineering software programmer with a strong background in computer science and/or engineering. This individual will have a demonstrated record of accomplishments in developing advanced Windows-based applications using C++, MFC, Python, and/or FORTRAN. Five to ten years programming experience, preferably in engineering or technical applications, is required. BA/B.Sc. or M.Sc. in computer science, math, engineering, or scientific discipline is required. Excellent team working skills and motivation to succeed in a fast-paced engineering environment are critical.
