The famous “Smith Chart” method was introduced for axial turbine design in the 1960’s. The method proved so useful that it was extended to axial compressor design. Unfortunately, the compressor counterpart was not built on a comprehensive database like the original turbine work and is not as well validated, despite its widespread usage. This webinar takes a detailed look at the Smith Chart method and incorporates optimization methods to refine the approach for modern axial compressor design.
