Director, Aerodynamic / Hydrodynamic Engineering

This full-time position requires an exceptional leader with a significant background in turbomachinery. The successful candidate will have hands-on design expertise as well as experience supervising a team of highly-skilled engineers.

Reporting to the Vice President of Engineering, this individual directs and coordinates all aerodynamic / hydrodynamic research, design and development at Concepts NREC. Responsibilities include providing cost and schedule proposals for potential projects, assigning and monitoring staff assignments, budget/expenses, and overall project progress for the department. This key position will also participate in, and occasionally lead, advanced technology projects while ensuring overall departmental excellence, professional growth, and profitability.

A Masters in ME or equivalent is required, PhD preferred, with a minimum of 10 years of direct industrial aerodynamic design experience. The successful candidate will also have demonstrated leadership skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and a deep technical understanding of aerodynamic / hydrodynamic performance of components, products, and systems.

Regional Sales Manager (Europe)

Concepts NREC is seeking a Regional Sales Manager in Europe.  This person must have experience in turbomachinery design and development and possess the requisite skills to build a high performing sales presence in the region.  This innovative candidate will be responsible for driving profitable growth and will establish a mature sales pipeline for three business units:  Software, Engineering, and Mechanical Products.  The individual will plan all sales and business development activities with a focus on aligning Concepts NREC expertise with the client’s needs. The European Region will work in close collaboration with the Sales and Marketing team based in the US and prepare technical proposals, negotiate directly with customers, and provide excellent customer service and product support which includes trouble shooting.

Candidate will need to be a team player with strong organizational skills.  Proficiency with Microsoft Office is a must and a working familiarity with Microsoft CRM is preferred.  An ideal background includes past technical and sales experience in software and engineering services.  Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical field with a MS or equivalent advanced engineering degree highly desired.  A technical foundation in turbomachinery with a solid basis in business fundamentals is required. Experience in selling design or engineering software with 10 years of relevant sales experience is strongly preferred.  Must be able and willing to travel both domestically and internationally.

Test and Product Support Engineer (White River Junction, VT)

We are seeking an experienced Test and Product Support Engineer to work on the development of rig testing activities for compressors, turbines, and pumps. This role is also responsible for the assembly and testing of our air dynamometer products.  Candidate must have an engineering degree or relevant technical degree, at least 5 years of experience with turbomachinery instrumentation and controls (temperature, pressure, rotating speed measurement, data acquisition systems, servo motor controls, etc.), high speed turbomachinery rig test planning and testing, as well as product support.  The ideal candidate will have a good combination of academic engineering knowledge and hands-on practical experience with building / testing / troubleshooting turbomachinery related products.  Product support activities include production engineering for engineered-to-order dynamometers, technical problem solving, and product/process documentation.

Software Engineer (White River Junction, VT)

Concepts NREC is looking for an entry level Software Engineer.  In this role, working out of our White River Junction, Vermont location, you will be working as part of a team developing a suite of products. This is a great opportunity to utilize your software skills to develop industry leading software applications. 

As an Entry-level Software Engineer, you will:

  • Assist in software requirements analysis, design, development and testing of software systems or applications for software enhancements and new products
  • Apply the appropriate standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the system development life cycle to support the generation of technical engineering products
  • Participate in internal review of software components and systems

 Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Software, Computer, or Systems Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field, or the equivalent experience is required. 

  • Qualified candidates must have good working knowledge of the software development process, engineering concepts, principles, and theories 
  • Working knowledge of software tools such as Integrated Development Environments (IDE) like Eclipse or Visual Studio, as well as version control and defect reporting tool
  • C++, python, Javascript, Web client/server are a plus

Turbomachinery Aerodynamics Engineer (White River Junction, VT)

Concepts NREC is seeking a Turbomachinery Aerodynamics Engineer with solid experience and formal education in the aerodynamic design of compressors, turbines or fans. As such, the successful candidate will be responsible for designing a wide range of turbomachinery (axial, mixed-flow and radial, single or multistage) based on various simulation tools and experimental data. They will manage and execute the aerodynamic design portion of projects, support design best practices, and play a significant role in developing advanced technologies in turbomachinery. Therefore, the applicant must possess strong understanding of the physics and principles of turbomachinery aerodynamics in addition to creativity and problem-solving skills, a proven track record for technical excellence in turbomachinery aerodynamics, a practical approach as well as teamwork, and excellent verbal and written communication skills.

This is a mid to high level position that requires a number of years of turbomachinery aerodynamic design experience. Connections to the turbomachinery industry and academic community are an asset, as is familiarity with Concepts NREC design/analysis tools. A master’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering is required. This position is located at Concepts NREC headquarters in White River Junction, VT.
