The Design Software Workshop (DSW) is an excellent opportunity for current and prospective Concepts NREC software users to obtain hands-on training in the latest versions of our versatile, powerful, state-of-the-art, pump, compressor and turbine design and analysis software.
Past workshops have drawn a diverse, active group of experienced and new turbomachine designers. During each session, attendees interact directly with Concepts NREC design engineers and development staff members, as well as current users for a comprehensive exploration of the software’s capabilities and future planned enhancements. The workshop is designed to meet the needs of all design engineers from experts to those with limited design knowledge.
Why Attend a Design Software Workshop?- Establish design of compressor or pump with data-based correlations.
- Use documented models for loss, blockage, deviation angle and slip factor for the impeller.
- Use documented models for loss and blockage for channel diffusers.
- Use loss and turning angle data for cascade diffusers.
- Compute performance map.
- Perform trade-off between efficiency and stall-free range.
- Learn about impeller blade design with channel flow analysis.
- Optimize blade and flow path shapes to meet aerodynamic and hydraulic loading limits.
- Learn to optimize the design with changes in blade number, blade angle distribution, flow path length and width, and blade thickness distribution.
- Confirm impeller design with CFD analysis.
- Revise the design if needed by changing a design parameter, re-computing the blade loading, and re-confirming the design with CFD analysis.
- Perform the redesign by moving easily among the three codes: meanline, blade design and CFD.
- Qualify for a 30-day trial software license.
Workshop Location
The workshop will be held in Darmstadt, Germany. Registrants will

Design Software Workshop Registration
Registration fees are €650 and €1025, depending on the
level of training selected. Lunch and refreshments will be provided.
Please note that Agile Products Support (APS) members can use
their membership discounts (see below). Attendance is limited,
so please notify Concepts NREC of your intention to attend the
workshop as early as possible. Registration without payment does
not reserve space.
*Current Agile Products Support members may use their membership discounts. The first attendee may apply a 50% discount, the second attendee may apply a 25% discount, and subsequent attendees may apply a 10% discount.
