Design Wizard Technology
PUMPAL's unique Design Wizards lead the user step-by-step through the design, analysis, or data reduction process.
Modeling
Supported in PUMPAL are two-elements-in-series (TEIS) rotor diffusion modeling, two-zone loss modeling, radial and axial stator diffusion/losses, volutes, inlet cavitation, eye optimization, disk friction, exit mixing, cavity leakage, and more. PUMPAL uses the same consistent model of the stage performance for design, analysis, and data reduction modes.
True-Scaled Meridional View of Stage
The pump stage is shown in an active, true-scaled view. This view is a dynamic part of the user interface. Virtually any program input or option may be accessed by clicking on the meridional view.
User-Friendly Features
Context-sensitive help and menus are included in PUMPAL, as well as customizable output tables and multiple user-definable screen setups. Users may also double-click on a view for context-sensitive geometry or analysis options. Comprehensive and flexible performance mapping is also included.
Integrated Performance Map Plotting
Powerful and flexible plotting of performance maps allows quick review of performance and comparison of multiple designs or analyses versus test data. Maps are updated automatically with any geometry change.
Axial View with Inlet and Exit Velocity Triangles
Blade angles and velocity triangles may be viewed at both the impeller inlet and exit. Inlet velocity triangles may be shown for the hub, tip, or RMS radius. Exit velocity triangles may be shown for the primary zone, secondary zone, or mixed-out state.
Report Generator
A powerful report generator is built into PUMPAL, allowing users to combine PUMPAL tables and plots to create standard and custom reports using a flexible template approach.
Real Fluid Program
Real Fluid properties can be calculated in PUMPAL using the optional DB Robinson Real Fluid property routines.
Direct Integration with CCAD®
The user can start CCAD automatically from within PUMPAL, with
initial geometry transferred automatically to CCAD. Changes in
CCAD that affect the meanline analysis will cause the meanline
analysis to be rerun and all performance maps to be regenerated.
