CAM Software
The MAX-PAC family of CAM software provides cutter path solutions for turbomachinery and gas turbine components. These software tools provide many cutting strategies, allowing users to reduce engineering costs as well as production costs.
The MAX-PAC family includes
- MAX-5 for flank milling of ruled-surface blading,
- MAX-AB for point milling of arbitrary-surface blading, and
- MAX-SI for point milling of integrally-shrouded impellers.
Both individually and collectively, this CAM software has long been recognized as the preeminent software for 5-axis milling of turbomachinery impellers, blisks, and rotors. It enjoys a strong worldwide reputation with turbomachinery manufacturers, job shops and 5-axis machine-tool manufacturers alike. The reputation of MAX-PAC is based on expertise built into the specialized tool from the ground up, incorporating methodologies protected by three separate patents.
Turbomachinery components are often considered a challenge to manufacture. They can be made from hard materials, have thin blade sections, require slender cutters, and often have tight tolerances and smooth surface finish requirements. These components often have complex geometry that mandates 5-axis manufacturing solutions.
Compared to other CAM tools, MAX-PAC addresses only turbomachinery, and as a result, it is faster to learn, easier to use, and requires less programming and machining time. However, its most important attribute is that MAX-PAC produces higher quality parts than its competition.
MAX-PAC Advantages
- High-quality parts without hand-finishing
- Superior surface finish and tighter tolerances with patented flank- or point-milling approach
- Faster machining times with optimized cutting strategies
- Easy and fast to operate
- Exclusively for turbomachinery production
- Smooth, safe 5-axis toolpaths for high-speed milling
- Collision-free toolpaths for difficult geometries
MAX-PAC can be purchased with any combination of MAX-5, MAX-AB and MAX-SI modules to suit your part geometry requirements.
