Cycle Codes

Concepts NREC's cycle codes permit a thermodynamic balance of all state points, including pressures, temperatures, flow rates, and power levels for all elements of a given cycle or process.

GasTurb™
GasTurb 10 is a powerful and flexible gas turbine cycle program for simulating the most common types of aircraft and power generation gas turbines with a very friendly graphical interface, clear nomenclature and no cryptic abbreviations. To learn what new features are available in GasTurb 10, download the pdf document.

  • Employs flexible, high-quality graphics under Windows.
  • Shows engine cross sections with station numbering and air system.
  • Provides temperature-entropy and enthalpy-entropy diagrams.
  • Helps with parametric studies, a formula compiler, user defined iterations, numerical optimisation and preliminary component design.
  • Takes additional user specified correlations - given as formulae or tabulations - into account.
  • Exports selectable simulation results to Microsoft Excel.
  • Estimates compressor efficiency as a function of stage loading, size, and technology level.
  • Shows turbine velocity triangles with a Smith diagram (stage loading versus flow factor).
  • Models a family of engines with a common core.
  • Sets up off-design iterations automatically.
  • Uses component maps for off-design.
  • Includes an integrated parallel compressor model for inlet flow distortion simulation.
  • Observes several limiters simultaneously when simulating a control system.
  • Allows the user to define a mission with many operating conditions or a complete flight envelope and calculate all points in a single run.
  • Offers the Monte Carlo method for simulating a batch of engines.
  • Performs model based test analysis and engine performance monitoring.
