Receptionist/Administrative Assistant

Concepts NREC, the world’s leading independent, full-service turbomachinery design, development, research, and training organization is seeking a Receptionist/Administrative assistant for 20 hours per week at our Wilder, Vermont facility.

The successful candidate will answer our main company phone line, greet visitors, handle US mail, and perform some library and editing/proofing functions; prepare courier shipments; maintain inventory of office and kitchen supplies; coordinate and carry out hospitality and food services for guests.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Answers incoming calls in a professional manner, and directs callers appropriately; uses paging system as necessary.
  • Distributes voice mails, faxes, and messages as appropriate.
  • Welcomes guests, vendors, and staff; monitors people entering the building.
  • Retrieves, sorts, and routes mail; takes outgoing US mail to the post office at end of day.
  • Manages company mailboxes and employee/visitor sign-in sheets.
  • Prepares packages, shipping labels, and paperwork for FedEx, and ensures timely pick-up.
  • racks and maintains inventory of office and kitchen supplies, including proper paperwork.
  • Maintains relationships with food and supply vendors; negotiates and ensures proper contract pricing; actively monitors purchasing to control costs.
  • Maintains calendar for front office commitments and requests.
  • Performs opening and closing duties for the building.
  • Ensures proper maintenance of office machines; provides assistance in use of the machines.
  • Prepares menus, shops for food, orders catering, and arranges for payment.
  • Sets up and cleans up food service; maintains clean kitchen and serving areas.
  • Makes hotel, transportation, and other arrangements for guests and employees, as needed.
  • Provides support for course and document preparation (printing, binding, sorting, name tags, signage).
  • Provides support for editing and proofing of documents, as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education: High school diploma.
Experience: 3-5 years of office experience.
Abilities: Strong organizational, grammar, spelling, communication, multitasking and teamwork skills required.

Product & Manufacturing Parts Sales Manager

Concepts NREC, the world’s leading independent, full-service turbomachinery design, development, research, and training organization is seeking a Product & Manufacturing Parts Sales Manager. The successful Sales Manager will be a heavily sales and business strategy oriented individual responsible for identifying business growth opportunities and then driving profitable sales for our Manufactured Parts and Products Business Unit in the U.S. and Canada. The position requires an organized and detail-oriented individual that is comfortable working both collaboratively and making independent decisions.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Conduct sales and support activities in close collaboration with the products and marketing teams, and the Product Managers
  • Identify sales prospects and develop a sales strategy for each sales opportunity
  • Prepare product/pricing proposals, work with prospects, and negotiate directly with customers to close sales
  • Meet quarterly and annual sales goals as measured through bookings, revenue and net income
  • Report regularly (verbally and written) on activities, results and forecasting from within the territory
  • Help to develop and assist with the development of promotional material including sales literature, video content and related marketing materials as it relates to Products and Manufactured Parts Business Units
  • Assist with payments and account receivables from the customer base within the region
  • Interact with management, other internal Concepts NREC departments, sales staff, and outside vendors as needed to achieve objectives as a key member of the Concepts NREC sales management team

Education & Experience:  

A four-year degree from an accredited institution in an Engineering or related technical field.  Ten years of relevant sales or sales support experience in an industrial setting.  A strong background of technical sales and/or services for turbomachinery or high-speed rotating equipment industries is required. Direct exposure to the design and/or manufacturing of pumps, compressors, turbines, gas turbine engines, or other high-speed rotating equipment or associated parts is highly desirable.

Production Control Manager

Concepts NREC, the world’s leading independent, full-service turbomachinery design, development, research, and training organization is seeking a Production Control Manager.

Reporting to Concepts NREC's President of Engineering and Products, this individual will be responsible for all order fulfillment activities for Machined Parts and Dyno Products. The successful candidate will develop and maintain the Master Production Schedule and provide the organization with leadership and direction as needed to meet schedule commitments and support customer requirements. 

Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or related field is required. Previous experience managing production or supply chains in a manufacturing environment, preferably in a low-volume/high-mix capacity is desired, as well as demonstrated leadership experience and the ability to succeed in a technical environment.

Turbomachinery Aerodynamics Engineer (VT)

Concepts NREC, the world’s leading independent, full-service turbomachinery design, development, research, and training organization is seeking an exceptional Aerodynamic Turbomachinery Engineer to develop turbomachinery designs for radial and axial compressors, pumps and turbines. The ideal candidate should have a Master’s or PhD degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering, and minimum 3 years of experience in turbomachinery aerodynamics.

As an Aerodynamic Turbomachinery Engineer at Concepts NREC, you will:

  • Perform several clean-sheet turbomachinery design projects at a time. Example turbomachine design projects include fuel pumps for the next-generation rocket turbo pumps, gas turbine engines, advanced diffuser technology, innovative turbocharger technology, modular hydroturbines and more.

Desired Qualifications and Skills

  • MS in mechanical engineering or equivalent, PhD in the field of fluid dynamics preferred.
  • 3 years of experience in the field of turbomachinery design/analysis.
  • Proficient in the use of CFD tools to analyze compressible and/or incompressible fluids
  • Ability to perform mechanical analysis using FEA tools is a plus.

Machinist II

Concepts NREC, the world’s leading independent, full-service turbomachinery design, development, research, and training organization is seeking a Machinist with experience in CAM systems and 5-axis milling. The qualified candidate will have the ability to interpret prints/drawings, program from models or prints, determine work holding/fixturing methods, use various measuring equipment to verify part dimensions and set-up and operate lathes, mills and 5-axis mills proficiently.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Studies features and specifications from blueprint, sketch and/or model to determined dimensions and tolerances of part to be machined
  • Interrogates part, looking for any obstacles in the manufacturing of the part
  • Determines sequence of operations, tools and materials need to complete the job
  • Adeptly writes programs both at the machine and using a CAM system using up to 5 axis.
  • Sets up and operates machines such as CNC lathes & milling machine also the ability to operate manual machines when needed.
  • Verifies conformance of work piece to specifications using measuring instruments.
  • Applies mastery of skills in adapting procedures, techniques, tools, materials and/or equipment, as appropriate.
  • Adheres to all safety procedures and guidelines.
  • Accurately records time spent on specific jobs or other activities during the week.
  • Adheres to ISO inspection processes

Required Skills

  • Ability to foresee problems with manufacturability and determine processes to overcome these problems.
  • Knowledge of G-Code is essential
  • Excellent blueprint reading
  • Ability to use measuring devices such as micrometer, caliper, and height gauge.
  • Ability to set up fixturing, select tooling, and measuring equipment to validate compliance.
  • Demonstrated experience in close tolerance machining.
  • Ability to operate equipment and make adjustments.
  • Capacity to evaluate information to determine compliance with standards.
  • Basic ability to operate computers

Education:
High School Diploma or GED / Trade or Technical Certification
Experience:
Minimum 5 years of experience

Mechanical Engineering Technician

Concepts NREC, the world’s leading independent, full-service turbomachinery design, development, research, and training organization is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Technician to support our developmental turbomachinery fabrication and testing activities. The ideal candidate should have a mechanical engineering in technology degree or relevant technical degree, and at least 3 years of experience in fixturing and hardware fabrication and assembly with strong problem solving skills. Experience with rotating equipment is a plus.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with other technical staff to complete hardware assembly activities and prototype testing.
  • Fabricate and assemble development and production rigs and equipment.
  • Calibrate and install instrumentation.
  • Independently conduct routine acceptance and performance testing.
  • Support engineering staff in commissioning new test facilities and conduct various testing activities as needed.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment.

Desired Qualifications and Skills

  • Engineering in Technology degree or certification as an airframe and power plant technician or equivalent professional experience.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in fabrication and assembly, including fixuring, plumbing, hydraulics, wiring.
  • Manual machining, welding and instrumentation skills are desired.
  • Hands-on experience with building/testing/troubleshooting turbomachinery is a plus.
  • Excellent organization, problem solving and communication skills.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be US citizen or US permanent resident.
