Administration

Financial Analyst (Vermont)

Reporting to the Controller, provides support including report writing, management reporting, and analysis for accounts, profitability, credit, and variance.  Prepares periodic reports and forecasts, reviews and reconciles data, and participates in the development of specialized financial data.  Oversees and prepares entries and adjustments to company records, files, and statements.  Monitors compliance.  Works closely with business teams to provide timely, accurate information necessary for decision-making.  Coordinates external audit preparation and Board financial reporting.  Prepares/edits corporate five-year plan.  May supervise other accounting staff.  Bachelors’ degree in accounting or finance expected along with 5-8 years of direct accounting and financial reporting experience.  Must have good communication, leadership and interpersonal skills as well as superior Excel skills and a variety of report and query writing skills, including the ability to work within our MS SL/Dynamics data bases.  Must be able to work independently, meet deadlines, be detail oriented, have a high degree of accuracy, and have very good systems abilities.  Apply to ppalmer@conceptsnrec.com.

Sales and Marketing

Engineering Sales Manager (Vermont)

Reporting to the VP of Sales and Marketing, this high level position takes the lead role in developing business opportunities and booking sales for the engineering section of Concepts NREC.  Duties and Responsibilities include preparing sales plans and goals, developing new markets, opportunities, and clients, preparing technical proposals, following up and closing sales.  Also, duties include working with Channel Partners to ensure results, working with the VP of Sales and Marketing to develop manage- ment and tracking tools for business activity and working directly with customers and prospects.  Interacts with the contract manager, finance office and other business groups to ensure appropriate communication to meet customer needs.  Makes effective presentations to others, including customers and staff.  Must have an MSME or equivalent along with significant technical experience and technical sales experience in turbomachinery components and systems.  An ideal background includes past technical or sales experience in engineering services (as opposed to products).  Must have good estimating, planning, and budgeting capability.  Good communication, sales and teamwork skills are essential.  A broad-based technical knowledge along with a solid basis in business fundamentals is required.  A strong foundation in pumps, compressors, turbines, ORC machinery, and/or gas turbine engines and related systems is required.  Must have an ability and willingness to travel plus an ability to demonstrate technical concepts to various levels within our customer and prospect base is a requirement.  Good managerial, computer skills (including Microsoft Office products and some familiarity with CRM system use) and reasoning skills are essential.

Engineering Services Sales Associate (Vermont)

Supports the engineering services sales team with sales/marketing initiatives, including assisting in proposal preparation and presentations, sales reporting and analysis, tracking industry news, client satisfaction surveys, maintaining and improving sales operations, managing the CRM system, as well as assisting with general marketing campaigns, and general administrative duties.  Responsibilities also include assisting with promotional materials, tracking marketing campaigns, developing trade show exhibits and related materials, attending shows, coordinating sales meetings and conferences, and assisting in lead follow-up. The ideal candidate must have the ability to interact effectively with all business end users, grasp both technical and business needs quickly, and possess excellent verbal, writing, and presentation skills.​  A 4-year degree with major/minor in marketing or business is required.  Must have excellent skills in communication, writing, interpersonal, and problem solving, organized, focused and able to meet deadlines.  Proficiency in Microsoft Office is required and CRM and Database management experience is preferred. 

 

Operations

Materials Manager (Vermont)

Under the direction of the Director of Operations, the Materials Manager has hands-on responsibility for master planning and scheduling for the products and operations groups.  Principle responsibilities include compiling/reporting production data, organizing/publishing/driving production schedules, managing lower level day-to-day production planning, purchasing, shipping/receiving and inventory control, preparing program reports for upper management, ensure progress towards program objectives and, along with the Director of Operations, review, recommend, and implement process improvements.  An AD or B.Sc. or equivalent experience in a manufacturing environment is required.  5-10 years of experience in planning/scheduling and 2-5 years of supervisory experience is expected.  Experience with complex manufacturing and assembly in a short-run or custom manufacturing environment is beneficial along with ISO processes.  Prefer Microsoft Dynamics and JAAS advanced manufacturing software experience along with excellent teamwork and communication skills.

Quality Control Inspector (Vermont)

Working in a manufacturing parts and products assembly environment, the QC Inspector performs inspections by measuring dimensions using precision instruments to ensure parts and products meet specifications.  Accurately documents results, maintains all controlled document files and test records, coordinated calibration of test equipment and fixtures, monitors equipment and instrumentation  and reports quality issues to manager while following up to ensure corrective actions are accomplished.  Must be able to interact with other departments to ensure compliance with specifications as well as work independently with limited supervision.  Excellent communication is required, both written and spoken, along with mechanical aptitude, the ability to interpret blueprints, a working knowledge of measurement instruments, basic math and Trigonometry skills, and general proficiency with MS Excel, Access, and Word.  High School diploma along with two plus years QC experience in receiving, in-process and final inspection is required.  CMM operation and programming a plus.  Aerospace background preferred.

Quality Control Manager / CMM Specialist (Vermont)

This individual is responsible for developing and maintaining QC systems which ensure that products and services are designed and produced to meet internal and external customer requirements and expectations.  Provides leadership and support of the product and process quality for precision complex machined parts and assemblies in a prototype and production environment is required.  Duties include hands-on knowledge, leadership and support in inspection, corrective and preventative action initiation and implementation, defect data and root cause analysis, quality data collection and reporting, material control, and support of cross-functional teams with QA, Manufacturing, and Engineering.  A strong, thorough knowledge of quality improvement tools is expected, along with statistical methods (including sampling), quality system development, maintenance, and auditing (ISO9000-2000), 3D surface and solid modeling and CAD tools, and expert knowledge of Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) operations and tools.  A BS degree or equivalent experience with seven plus years of quality control and CMM experience in measuring complex machined parts and assemblies.  CQE, ASQ is a plus.  MS Office fluency is required and knowledge of Visual Manufacturing and Quality is a plus.

Technician

Engineering

Director, Aerodynamic/Hydrodynamic Engineering (Vermont)

Reporting to the head of engineering, this individual directs and coordinates all aerodynamic/ hydrodynamic research, design and development activities and components, products, and systems, personally or through subordinate senior staff members.  Responsibilities include supplying Sales and Marketing with input for cost- and schedule-competitive proposals and planning and monitoring staff assignments, budget/expenses, and project progress for the aero/hydro department. Also, participates in, and occasionally leads, advanced technology projects while ensuring overall departmental excellence, professional growth, and profitability.  A Masters in ME or equivalent is required, PhD preferred, along with 8-10 years of direct industrial aerodynamic design experience.  Demonstrated leadership skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and an excellent technical understanding of aero/hydro performance of components, products, and systems is expected.

ORC Product Manager (Vermont or Massachusetts)

The Organic Rankine Cycle Product Manager will have the overall responsibility for sales, design, and production of the CN300 and future derivatives as well as other ORC turbines.  He/she will work closely with other Concepts NREC (CN) groups, including Engineering, Contracting, Manufacturing, and Purchasing, to achieve revenue and profitability goals.  Responsibilities include maintaining schedule and budget, managing ORC hardware deliveries and product modifications for new applications, and warranty programs.   Also developing and maintaining ORC business model, expanding and promoting markets and applications, setting margins, inventory levels, defining product strategy, overseeing productization of the ORC turbine family from prototypes to production units, and proposal preparation.  Limited travel is required for client and vendor visits, as well as trade show attendance. Applicants must have an MS in Engineering plus a minimum of 10 years demonstrated experience in turbomachinery related design or systems, project management, and product development. An MBA is also desired. Should be a highly motivated self-starter with excellent writing and presentation skills.

Project Manager (Vermont or Massachusetts)

Seeking one or two Project Managers (PM).  A PM is responsible for the overall management of multi-discipline turbomachinery design and development projects, including proposal writing, satisfaction of all project technical and contractual requirements, and cost and schedule targets.  He/she individually manages large projects to ensure successful completion of work such that departmental business goals are met.  A PM works closely with sales and marketing personnel and senior management in order to develop business plans and new business.  A minimum B.Sc. ME or similar technical degree is required; M.Sc. ME preferred.  A minimum of 10+ year’s active engineering experience, in areas appropriate to projects being managed is preferred.  A minimum of five years project management experience is required.  Experience with gas turbine engine design is required.  Must have clear, concise written and oral communications skills in English.  Competency with the Microsoft family of business software products is required.   Excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills are required.  Some travel is expected, both domestic and foreign.  Must be a U.S. citizen.  Must be able to obtain security clearance, if required.

Structural/Rotordynamics Engineer (Vermont)

Seeking an experienced, full-time engineer/experimentalist with training and experience in rotordynamics, structural design and analysis, and structural laboratory testing.  This person will be responsible for operating and further developing an advanced rotordynamics test facility developed in coordination with NASA for obtaining unique turbomachinery and rocket turbopump rotordynamic and stability measurements.    Responsibilities also include stress and natural frequency analysis of stationary and rotating hardware, rotordynamic analysis of complex shafting systems, and layout/design/analysis of shafts, bearings and seals for turbomachinery applications.  Experience with ANSYS is desirable.  Secondary responsibilities include some project management, and direction of junior engineers and CAD designers. Excellent communication and teamwork skills are essential.  This position requires an earned degree in engineering (M.Sc., Ph.D.) and at least five years’ experience in laboratory testing, rotordynamics, and structural analysis.
