Reshaping the Future of HVAC: Solstice-Powered Turbocompressors

Thiago Ebel, Turbomachinery Engineer & Innovation Strategist, and Thomas Gresham, Lead Mechanical Design Engineer, Concepts NREC will participate in this free webinar hosted by Honeywell. Registration is free but required at the link.

Solstice®-powered turbocompressors outperform traditional positive displacement compressors—offering better efficiency, lower environmental impact and scalable solutions. Hear from experts at Concepts NREC and Danfoss and discover how Solstice® HFO refrigerant technology is transforming the HVAC industry.

This webinar will highlight the advantages of turbocompressors utilizing Honeywell Solstice® HFO refrigerant technology compared to standard positive displacement compressors in the HVAC industry. Special guests will include industry experts from the leading turbomachinery design and manufacturing company, Concepts NREC, as well as HVAC market leader, Danfoss, featuring its Turbocor® oil-free compressors.

We will highlight how refrigerant selection plays a key role in different mechanical, aerodynamic and thermodynamic aspects, and how this translates into associated costs. We will also feature a selection of applications where Solstice®-powered turbocompressors excel and how they can be scaled and replicated among other industries.

Thiago Ebel is a mechanical engineer and turbomachinery specialist with a passion for energy systems, propulsion, and applied thermodynamics. As a presenter at international conferences, including the ASME Turbo Expo, he has shared research on engine cycles, turbine modeling, and high-performance simulation workflows. With international experience in research, product development, and technical consultancy, he has worked at industry leaders such as Dyson and currently serves as Customer Success Manager for Innovation & Strategy at Concepts NREC. His expertise includes CFD, 1D/3D CAE tools, turbomachinery design, thermodynamic cycle analysis, and numerical optimization.

Thomas Gresham serves as a Lead Mechanical Design Engineer at Concepts NREC. His responsibilities include mechanical design, analysis, and testing of advanced turbomachinery. His expertise includes machine conceptual layout, rotordynamics, bearing technology selection, and mechanical design of components. Prior to joining Concepts NREC, he worked for several companies that specialize in technology development for rotating machinery.
