Improve overall engine efficiency of TDI-J45 engine by 8% to further increase missile payload and range with minimal added cost.

CN Solution

CN provided 5-axis machining toolpath instructions using its proprietary software for manufacturing. All machining issues were resolved, and also achieved the target cost for a finished compressor wheel.

Benefit

CN’s new impeller design with lighter, stronger, and more efficient turbomachinery features incorporated very thin blades and a higher blade complement to achieve optimum performance with minimal flow losses.
